Patrick Doherty - Professor of Computer Science, Department of Computer and Information Science, Linköping University
Patrick Doherty is a Professor of Computer Science at the Department
of Computer and Information Science (IDA), Linköping University, Sweden. He
serves as Director of the Artificial Intelligence and Integrated Computer Systems
Division at IDA, heads the Knowledge Processing Laboratory. He is Program Director for LinkLab,
a new center for Future Aviation Systems, which is a joint venture
between Saab Aero Systems and Linköping University.
His current research interests include
formal knowledge representation and approximate reasoning, automated planning,
reasoning about action and change, autonomous aerial robotics systems, and software
architectures for autonomous systems. His research team is one of the
internationally leading groups in the areas of automated planning and unmanned aerial vehicle
research. He and his students have developed TALplanner, an award winning task-based
planner in international competitions. They are also currently developing technologies for a
fully deployed autonomous unmanned helicopter platform and have recently developed the LINKMAV,
an award winning micro-UAV.
